The charitable trust teaches English to help migrants and former refugees settle well in New Zealand.
Having previously served as executive director of the Christchurch Methodist Mission, Dr Bromell has extensive board experience. He has been an active board member of several Christchurch-based trusts, including the Rehua Marae Trust Board, the Lifeline Christchurch Charitable Trust Board and the Christchurch Council of Christian Social Services Trust Board.
Dr Bromell is a Principal Advisor, based with the Strategic Policy team at Environment Canterbury. Before joining Environment Canterbury, he was acting Chief Policy Advisor at the Ministry of Social Development.
He is also a Senior Associate of the Institute for Governance and Policy Studies in the School of Government at Victoria University, where he delivers a course in political philosophy in the School’s Master of Public Policy programme.
Dr Bromell’s research interests include ethnicity, identity and public policy, and he is a member of both the NZ Political Studies Association and of the Population Association of New Zealand.
