Language lessons from ELPNZ

Our Organisation
Uncategorised

Flexibility and adaptability are the key ingredients to ELP’s success, says former CE Nicola Sutton.

Ms Sutton has been with English Language Partners for 26 years and spoke with Settlement ACTIONZ just prior to departing the organisation. Her interview and the related stories form an eight-page spread in the magazine; a potted history of ELP’s achievements, a voyage through 40+ years helping new Kiwis settle in Aotearoa.

At the heart of ELP’s work is its focus on helping learners succeed in life in New Zealand – at work and in their communities.

The feature covers ELP’s work and people, from early, pioneering 70s ESOL initiatives to meeting the needs of current learners. ELP’s sudden and dramatic plunge into online learning was an essential initiative that kept learners, teachers and volunteers connected during Covid-19’s lockdown.
