Exciting merger: introducing our English Language Partners Central & West centre

We’re making an important change to how we deliver services across central and west Auckland.

We’ve merged two of our Auckland centres: ELP Auckland Central and ELP Auckland West.

We’ll continue to offer the same services across the region, but the combined Auckland Central & West centre is operational from 1 October 2019. Our Auckland South and North Shore centres are not affected – no changes here.

The merger is in the interests of our learners, volunteers and stakeholders, as the rather arbitrary geographical boundary often led to confusion. We can now streamline our services across the area, so if learners move homes in the region, or work in another part of the city, we can support them more smoothly

As both our Auckland West and Auckland Central centre managers had decided to move on from their roles, timing was perfect for the change.

Murali Kumar is the new manager of the combined centre. Murali has worked for local and central government, focussing on relationship management and community development initiatives. He also has operational experience in managing and leading Auckland Council community facilities and programmes with a diverse team of people. He is passionate about reaching out to our ethnic communities and believes strongly in diversity and community empowerment. We are delighted Murali has joined our ELP team.
