Our Northland centre and Multicultural Whangarei marked Race Relations Day (21 March), with a special event.
We are proud of how ethnically and culturally diverse we are here in Aotearoa. Every March 21st, English Language Partners New Zealand promotes Race Relations Day, an important day in the calendar to champion the struggle to eliminate racial discrimination.
The theme for Race Relations Day 2017 is: "That's Us: What do we stand for? What do we stand against?"
Sandy was paired up with Sahriani, an Indonesian woman with two young boys, for home lessons over 12 weeks.
Cambridge bridge enthusiast Jane Stearns has embarked on a project to help people learn English - through playing cards. Stearns works as a volunteer for English Language Partners helping migrants and refugees learn English. The idea is to encourage those who do not have English as their first language, but played bridge in their home country, to take up the game and come to a club.
